Injection Molding

With both injection and low pressure overmolding capabilities in-house, Florida RS Technology can provide custom molded solutions for cable assemblies for military/defense, commercial aerospace, and medical applications. We have extensive experience in the design and manufacturing of molded strain reliefs for military connectors which include MIL-C-38999 and miniaturized connectors like the Glenair® Series 80 “Mighty Mouse” connector.

Potting & Encapsulation

Florida RS Technology has a broad knowledge of common industry potting compounds—epoxies, urethanes, RTV Silicones, and hot melt adhesives for harsh environment applications that will environmentally seal and protect sensitive electronic components.

Heat Shrink Boots

Heat shrinkable products offer reduced cost and lead times for customers that require environmental sealing. They can adapt to variation in a cable size and shape, and offer improved strained relief making them an idea solution for harsh environments.

Advantages of Molded Construction

Molded backshells offer significant opportunities for product improvement with improved flex and strain relief. Manufactured properly, molded backshells can improve performance and reduce overall cost. Molding also provides the user with many opportunities for strain relief and improved pull strength which aren’t available in conventional backshell construction.


The trend toward over-molding circular connectors is rapidly expanding as the use of military-style connectors gains popularity in industrial environments. Molding has numerous advantages and can enhance an already good product creating an even more robust one.
